Made of a delicate mix of earth, fire, and magic. This wheel thrown stoneware vase has been glazed through a raku firing process with oxygen reduction, meaning it was removed from the kiln at temperatures over 1900 degrees fahrenheit, immediately introduced to combustibles and then placed in an airtight environtment while aflame. As the oxygen was burned out of it’s airtight chamber the vase’s color began to emerge. Featuring rich chromatic tones ranging from purples, coppers, blues and of course smokey blacks with a matte finish and moments of alligator skin textures throughout.
